LOVELY VISIT FROM GOOD FRIENDS OUR JUNE GARDENS FANCY CROCHET BOWL STASH BUSTER CHALLENGE

HELLO EVERYONE,

My gardens are at their finest.. They are all a delight to visit everyday and they really make me smile..  This year is the very Best My Gardens have ever looked.. We've had lots of rain and the temps have been on the coolish side. I am so Pleased.  vbg

My Re-blooming Josee Lilac bush.  I have three of these beauties.. They bloom again in September. 

Our Good Friends from Germany came to visit..Ulla and Harry were my kind and friendly neighbors ( off base) when I was a Nurse on a American Military Base in Germany. We have keep in touch for a long time.

 We all had such a very special and great time together.
Thanks Ulla and Harry from coming all the way from Germany to visit us.

Ulla gifted me with some very lovely cotton yarn made in Croatia in my very favorite colors. I love cotton yarn. Thank you My Friend. The yarn is greatly appreciated.

My Sweetie received a very neat Bavaria German Mug.  The words say, "Pick Your Rose, Before it Withers"!! My DH really likes it allot.. A very special Mug indeed.  My Sweetie will treasure it always.

I made Ulla a "By The Lake Crocheted Bowl" in the colors of our sandy beaches.  The wee beads are the color of our Lovely Blue Lake Michigan. I also made a wee crochet Doily to match.

 Ulla's daughter and I chatted back and forth and she told me Ulla's living room colors and told me the Beige background had white flower in it.

 I stiffen the bowl with a mixture of Epsom Salts and water.. After the solution came to a boil I let it set until it cooled a bit and then put the whole crocheted bowl in the solution.  I squeezed out the excess water and then placed it over a hard plastic bowl and let it dry for 24 hours. The Epsom Salts give the crocheted Bowl a  Sparkle Look and I really love Sparkle.  I then added the wee pretty white flowers..

My Sweetie and I went searching for Sea Glass along the Lake Michigan shoreline.. Look what we found.. Yup My Very First Pieces of Sea Glass. I was so excited.

 Aren't they really pretty pieces??

We have been away for just about 2 weeks and along the way I found this really "Old" Antique Wooden Primitive Spool.  This is the third one to add to my collection and this one is the biggest.  I plan to wrap wool roving around it..

I was thinking of spray painting it. What do you think??  Should I leave it the old battered look or paint it???

My Snowball Bush is all it Glory. It is growing outside my sewing room window and OH, how I love seeing its blooms.

Chloe My Dear Grand Daughter just turned 7 Years old.  Chloe has the white tee shirt on. This year her Birthday Party was celebrated on a camping weekend with friends and family.

They just bought a new camper seen in the background.  They love the great out-of-doors.

Chloe's Birthday Cake.  Pretty neat hey?? Everything on the cake was eatable.  Some of the kids wanted to eat the stones, others the pieces of wood and some the trees. Such wonderful fun was had..

I recently gave Chloe a book I bought many years ago for her. She immediately open it up and started reading it. I can not tell you how much I smile while listening to her read.

 It is called the "Quiltmakers Gift"..

I just received this "Beauty Bush" from My Dear Gardening Friend Jan. I just planted it on May 29th. and at this time it had a few buds...

 When I came home from our trip I immediately had to check my gardens to see what new was blooming. 

To My Great Surprise this newly planted Beauty Bush had heaps of buds blooming.  I Love it. Huge Very Big Smile. Thanks Jan.

BIRTHDAY PRESSIE FROM MY SIS AND SPRING FLOWERS

HELLO EVERYONE,

Even though there was a Snow Blizzard on my birthday  that delayed Our Plans I still received a Very Special call from our local florist saying I have a Spring Bouquet that someone wants you to have today.  I can not tell you how this brought a Big Smile to My Face. 

I received Many Lovely Birthday Wishes via emails, cards, phone calls and even this Lovely Spring Bouquet from My Son and his family.

My Granddaughter Chloe who is Only 7 Years Old called me up and sang me Happy Birthday Grandma and at the end said, I LOVE YOU!! I am still smiling and I will never forgot how she made me feel so very loved. 

 

My SIS Lyn was not born into my family as my sister.  We met on the Internet back in 1997 through The Southern Cross Quilters.  We instantly became Kindred Spirits and began sharing our lives daily.

 Shortly there after We decided to say we were SIS and it has been 16 Wonderful and Most Lovely Years of having Lyn for MY SIS.

  Back in 2000 Lyn made a Long Journey from Melbourne Australia to  come and visit me so she could share My 50th Birthday with me. 

Lyn stayed 3 months and we celebrated everyday together and we shared some most wonderful adventures...

At the time I was working on the Naval Base in Norfolk Virginia so we were close to many wonderful places to visit. 

Below we are visiting a Quilt Show in North Carolina in the Spring.  I am sorry for the poor photos but back then I did not have a fancy camera.  vbg 

  

It was a glorious Day with the Daffodils blooming and the sky was such a Brilliant and beautiful shade of Blue.

My SIS is in the blue jeans and Me in the yellow outfit.

Yesterday I received a very large box in the Mail from My SIS...which of course put a big smile on my face. 

 My Pressie flew thousands and thousands of miles to bring me a smile and good wishes.

After opening My Pressies I found the most beautiful boxes with a picture of a Peony on them. The Peony is My Most favorite Flower.

 They came from the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. The are in My Most Favorite Colors of shades of Wine and Pink.

I was very very excited to open them.

I also received this wonderful book.  It is not only a cook book but a beautiful treasury chronicles of the daily lives of the Amish with very lovely photos. I love it.

Back to My Lovely Botanical Plate.  It looks so very exquisite and real I feel like I could really touch its fragile petals.

The Botanical Peony Mug also came too.

I can just see Myself Drinking a Pomegranate Strawberry Tea from My Mug and eating a lovely cake off the plate. 

  I wish Lyn was here to have Tea with ME. I also received the most lovely birthday card.

Below is another photo of Me in white and Lyn with Blue Jeans  at Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge Tennessee.  

During those 3 months which passed very quickly we visited many places in the surrounding states and had some really great adventures we will never forget.  

Truly Wonderful Memories. 

Thanks you Lyn for the Very Lovely Birthday Gifts I will treasure them always.

 And Most Important for being My SIS for all this years.

AFRICAN FLOWER PINCUSHION, A PRETTY CROCHET HEART AND SEA GLASS

HELLO EVERYONE....                 

This is what "My World" looks like today. Yes we received yet another snow blizzard.   A very heavy and wet snow.. The kind that made all my tree and bushes droop under the snow's weight. 

  We now have over 12 inches of snow in our front yard as you can see from our Snow Gauge below....

 But there is A GLIMMER OF HOPE..

Yes Indeed there is.. Below you will see close to the house where the earth is warm you will find   My Wee Crocuses starting to poke up there heads. They truly made me smile today.

  So while the outside world is very cold, blustery and gloomy, inside  I am keeping my Wee Fingers busy creating and

  Dreaming Of Spring!!!!!  vbg

 I try to crochet a Dish Cloth but it did not turn out square but it is Sunny and Pretty.  

"To Me Creativity is Inventing, Experimenting, Taking Risk, Breaking Rules, Making Mistakes, and Having Fun...

Heart Sachet with Rose

The crocheted Heart Sachet with a Rose pattern came from two crochet blogs I visit often. 

 Apple Blossom Dreams and Lavender and Wild Rose .. They are both wonderful blogs with very inspirational and beautiful crochet projects. 

It was my idea to add the wee lace trim around the Heart. 
 What do you think???

  I  have a passion for Pincushions made from all kinds of textile materials..


 I fell in love with this very Pretty African Flower Pincushion and I just had to make it.. 

The  Pattern is by Cherry Heart and the tutorial and is very easy.

   What do you all think???

 I have admired "Sea Glass" for some time but as often as I searched for it along our Michigan Lake Shore I could never find any.

 One day I was visiting Carolyn's Blog called "Carolyn Saxby Mix Media Textile Art and saw some of her most lovely creations using "Sea Glass"she had pick up along the Beach at St. Ives Cornwall, UK where Carolyn lives.

We chatted about the Sea Glass and My desire to find some and she kindly offered to send me some. 

Below you will find a photo of what Carolyn sent me from  her St. Ives Beach.  The shells and the Sea Glass sparkles so and I will truly treasure each piece of the lovely Sea Glass.

  If you look at the photo below the front 3 Pieces sparkle a bit more than the rest of the collection.   A very kind lady told me to put a wee bit of "Hand Cream"  on the Sea Glass and really rub it in and they now sparkle a bit more than the rest.  

What do you all think, should I leave the Sea Glass with the frosty look they have right from the sea or shine them up a bit?
 

 I do have a creative plan for these lovely pieces of Sea Glass. 

I also plan to use the Tyvek Beads Carolyn made me in the Color of the Seas.. The Wine Colors ones are shades of My Favorite Colors.   They are all truly beautiful.....

I will give you all a wee hint.  I plan to do some wet wool Felting in the Spring of a Seascape and then I plan to embellish and embellish this Seascape. 

 I hope you all will come back to visit again to see what My Fingers are creating.
