Yes our Beautiful American Robin has arrived in our front yard, surely Spring has arrived???  It is still pretty cold but we have lots of "Glorious Sunshine" and we are assured the temps will be warming up just in time for our Easter weekend.
Huge Very Big Smile.

We were away visiting family and friends and on our way home we stopped to visit Frankenmuth, Michigan  our "Little Germany".  The village was all grandly decorated for Easter and it was very lovely to see. I took a couple of photos but this is the only one that really look good.

While away I did a bit of crocheting for Easter. The yarn below is called "Sirdar Snuggly Crofter Baby Fair Isle effect DK.. It is such very lovely and soft yarn just perfect for babies.

I made a couple of baby head bands and I got the patterns from Ravelry...

The wee  granny roses pattern came from Astri at "Apple Blossom Dreams"...  Astri tutorial on how to create this rose is very easy and she also has a Utube tutorial for it too.  Love it Astri...

I also made some young ladies head bands. I got the pattern for the one with the yellow rose from a book called.   Head wraps by Sharlee Dayne and published by Leisure Arts...

I got the idea for the pony tail wrap from a flower made at the Grand Emporium Knitting Studio...

I also used Attic 24 May Rose tutorial for the very wee May Rose.. it is so lovely too.

Your take one of those pony tail wraps and make a single crochet stitch all around it and then make different number of chain stitches and attach them to the ring. I thought it was pretty neat.

I met the most lovely lady at the Grand Emporium Knitting Studio.  She is so sweet and helpful.  She knits and crochets most all of the samples in the shop..

I also have many lovely photos of this most Grand Knitting Studio I will share with you all in my next posting...

I have now visited this shop 3 times and each time I have come home with a "Grand" amount of yarn... LOL

I will share My New Stash with you all soon...and what I plan to create with it all....

I have discovered the most wonderful book and movie.. Thanks to My New Bogging Friend Diane at "Lavender Dreams"...

At Lavender Dreams Diane has post many very lovely photos of Marjorie Kennan Rawlings Florida State Park..

Here is also some more photos posted from the state park website...

I was just able to find this book from a library hours away from me so I have not finished it yet. BUT  I am truly enjoying every page of it..

The author is Marjorie Kinnan Rawling and at the age of 32 she buys a Orange Grove In an isolated Old Florida Bayou called Cross Creek and starts to write about her life in this "Backcountry""..

BUT I have watched the Cross Creek DVD many times.  OH, how I love this movie.  It takes place in "Old Florida" where Marjorie lived for 13 years..

Mary Steenburgen is an excellent actress who plays the part of Marjorie.. I always enjoy watching movies from the by gone days so I would highly recommend this book and movie.

I wish you all a Very Happy and Joyful Easter Holiday.

Thanks for visiting My Blog and leaving your lovely comments for me to read.  They are all greatly appreciated.

for it Religious meaning and for many other reasons too.

Me In Metz,  France during Easter and Blooming Flowers..
My Heart was smiling because everything was so beautiful.. The photo on the Metz France Link is the beautiful view from our hotel window.

Easter is My Most Favorite Time of Year....
A new beginning can be like those busy birds weaving a bit of thread and fragments of yarn into their twiggy nests. Small changes can add a whole new look to our lives.

Mother natures comes alive with glorious blooms and everything turns many shades of green and looks fresh and new again.

The beautiful Birds come back from the their Wintering grounds in the South. When we see a Robin in our front yard then we know Spring has arrived. No Robins yet.

I am posting many of My Favorite photos of Easter some old and some new..

Easter Wishes from Germany.

Such lovely smiles on Mother and children while decorating their German village for the Easter Season.

Easter wishes to everyone from My Home to Yours...

My wool felted Easter Bunny  and Tree I created and gifted to a Dear Friend.

The steps I took to create My Textile Fiber Easter Nest..

Creating bring My Soul Alive... and it makes me Immensely Happy...

I have always wanted to create a "Nest" since seeing all Vicki's lovely nest at
"2 Bags Full".. They are all so creative and lovely.

To create My Nest I First crocheted a bowl and wet felted it.

Below is the fibers I used to start embellishing
 "My Easter Nest".
I purchased the hand spun yarn of wool, angelina,  silk and bamboo rayon and threads from a etsy shop called
 "Renee Knits"...
I just love all the beautiful arrays of pinks and purples.

I used 50% Baby Camel and 50% Bleached Tussah Silk Top to create the nesting material for My Easter Nest. It is so very soft to touch.

First I crocheted a wee flower as the Center Point of interest for the nest.  I added the most beautiful bead for in the middle of the flower.

I then added more beads of flowers and a butterfly.
I made some very pretty Pale Pink Tyvek Beads to intertwine amongst the fibers.

The wee burgundy Tyvek Bead was gifted to me by Carolyn

The fine fringe fiber above the nest edge was bought from Hand-Dyed Hobbies.

Ages ago I bought some Iridescent Chips from
Nautical Yarns and at the time I had NO idea what I would use them for until now.
They had such a "Lovely Shimmer" to them and they were in shades of Pink and Gold and I just knew they would add so much needed sparkle to My Easter Nest so they were stitched on too.

What do you think??

Next I wet felted three beautiful Blue Eggs to add to My Easter Nest.  I then placed them in the very soft and lovely nesting material.

My Textile Fiber Easter Nest is now Finished.

Oh, how I enjoyed the journey of creating "My Easter Nest"...
What do you all think??

I also created a crochet Egg to put into My 1981 Avon Easter Bunny Egg Holder.

I also love showing everyone My Wet Felted Easter Bunny with embroidery.  I love combining embroidery on most of My Art.

I also crocheted a Easter Basket and Eggs. I also wet felted some more Easter Eggs.

The Hugging Easter Bunnies I bought on a Trip to Poland while living in Germany.

Easter In Metz France.

I could not resist buying these very artistic chocolate Hens and Rooster.
Does anyone know what the wording on the bench says??

I have never seen a Chocolate Easter Egg that was so grand looking.   It was most impressive to look at.  I think the French and German people certainly know how to celebrate Easter in the most unique ways.

I feel a bit nostalgic during the Easter Season because My Hearts longs to visit the Easter Markets in Europe again.  I loved seeing all the wonderful creations the artists created for us to see and buy.

During the next couple of weeks Grandma Judy's fingers will be doing a bit more creating for her grandchildren.
Above you will see Crocheted Headbands with No flowers yet.  I am trying to decide what color of yarn to make the flower.   I am thinking the light purple for one and maybe the the white or middle pink yarn for the other one.

  What do you all think??

We will be traveling visiting family and friends during the Easter holiday season.

I would like to wish all My Family and Blogging friends A Very Happy Easter Holiday..

Or A Very Happy Spring or Autumn where ever you all may live.
I will be back to Blogging at the end of April.  I thank you all for visiting My Blog and leaving your lovely comments.

Hugs Judy

Even though there was a Snow Blizzard on my birthday  that delayed Our Plans I still received a Very Special call from our local florist saying I have a Spring Bouquet that someone wants you to have today.  I can not tell you how this brought a Big Smile to My Face.

I received Many Lovely Birthday Wishes via emails, cards, phone calls and even this Lovely Spring Bouquet from My Son and his family.

My Granddaughter Chloe who is Only 7 Years Old called me up and sang me Happy Birthday Grandma and at the end said, I LOVE YOU!! I am still smiling and I will never forgot how she made me feel so very loved.

My SIS Lyn was not born into my family as my sister.  We met on the Internet back in 1997 through The Southern Cross Quilters.  We instantly became Kindred Spirits and began sharing our lives daily.

Shortly there after We decided to say we were SIS and it has been 16 Wonderful and Most Lovely Years of having Lyn for MY SIS.

Back in 2000 Lyn made a Long Journey from Melbourne Australia to  come and visit me so she could share My 50th Birthday with me.

Lyn stayed 3 months and we celebrated everyday together and we shared some most wonderful adventures...

At the time I was working on the Naval Base in Norfolk Virginia so we were close to many wonderful places to visit.

Below we are visiting a Quilt Show in North Carolina in the Spring.  I am sorry for the poor photos but back then I did not have a fancy camera.  vbg
It was a glorious Day with the Daffodils blooming and the sky was such a Brilliant and beautiful shade of Blue.

My SIS is in the blue jeans and Me in the yellow outfit.

Yesterday I received a very large box in the Mail from My SIS...which of course put a big smile on my face.

My Pressie flew thousands and thousands of miles to bring me a smile and good wishes.

After opening My Pressies I found the most beautiful boxes with a picture of a Peony on them. The Peony is My Most favorite Flower.

They came from the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. The are in My Most Favorite Colors of shades of Wine and Pink.
I was very very excited to open them.

I also received this wonderful book.  It is not only a cook book but a beautiful treasury chronicles of the daily lives of the Amish with very lovely photos. I love it.

Back to My Lovely Botanical Plate.  It looks so very exquisite and real I feel like I could really touch its fragile petals.

The Botanical Peony Mug also came too.

I can just see Myself Drinking a Pomegranate Strawberry Tea from My Mug and eating a lovely cake off the plate.

I wish Lyn was here to have Tea with ME. I also received the most lovely birthday card.

Below is another photo of Me in white and Lyn with Blue Jeans  at Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge Tennessee.

During those 3 months which passed very quickly we visited many places in the surrounding states and had some really great adventures we will never forget.

Truly Wonderful Memories.

Thanks you Lyn for the Very Lovely Birthday Gifts I will treasure them always.

And Most Important for being My SIS for all this years.
