CROCHET CHERRY BLOSSOMS PHOTO TUTORIAL MY SPRING GARDENS MY SWEETIE OUR LAKE MICHIGAN and THE STASH BUSTER CHALLENGE AND LINK PARTY

HELLO EVERYONE,

My SIS sent me this photo today from her Mum's garden in Melbourne, Australia.  It is the most gorgeous flower and it is called a "Chinese Lantern".. Isn't it truly beautiful? Thanks SIS for sharing this beautiful photo with me.. It makes me "Happy" every time I look at it...

I have two passions. Stitching and Gardening!

This posting will be about a wee bit of both.
My fingers have been very busy crocheting how sweet, delicate, and fluffy, Cherry Blossoms.
The pattern and complete photo tutorial came from
Mel Bondre Pattern #26 Pink Cherry Blossoms.

I first discovered these lovely crocheted Cherry Blossom made up at
"Mrs. Thomasina Tittlemouse"  where she created a very beautiful Cherry Blossom Shawl back in March of this year.. Her blog is very inspiring.

Instantly, I knew I needed to try and create some lovely Cherry Blossoms too.  I used shades of pink silk yarn bought at "Nautical Yarns" in Ludington a long time ago.. For the stamens I decided to use some of my Kreinik Metallic  white thread.

In this photo below you will see I made up 12  sweet wee Cherry Blossoms.
I used my new Pink Tulip Crochet hooks size 8/0 5.00mm. I sure do enjoy crocheting this these very soft to touch crochet hooks.

I went out in our woods and cut a few branches off some trees. Then I spray painted them a Apple Green and then again with some white sparkle spray paint.

I tucked them in My Polish Pottery Vase and then I wrapped some lovely natural dyed green wool from Germany around the bottom of them.  I am sorry that these photos are not so good sitting in our Bay Window.

I thought the vase needed a wee bow so I found some lovely pastel green and pink ribbon and created one. This was my first attempt at trying to create a bow..

Now My Crocheted Cherry Blossoms Spring Bouquet is setting again in our Bay Window.... It makes me Happy when I look at it because I created it Myself...

What do you all think??

I am so happy to say I finally have blooms in my gardens.. I especially love the white and pink Trillium's that grow wild in our woods..

In the bottom right corner are very pretty wee white flower growing around them but I have NO idea what they are.. Maybe someone will know what kind of flower they are... I would love to know..

I am also Very Happy to say we've had several very nice warm and sunny days.. So I got to work and brought out My Collection of Blue Bottles to put back on My Bottle Tree My Sweet made for me last Summer.

The Potato Wagon I bought at a Flea Market in Belgium while I was living in Germany.. It make my work so much easier when I am totting my garden art around.

My Forsythias are blooming in their glorious yellow color. They are so bright and cheery..

My sweetie has never ending energy.. He decided to blow all the Oaks leaves out of the woods this year for the first time. But he was smiling and having fun so I let him be... I told him he was "Crazy"..It will probably never happen again.. LOL

We both love living by Lake Michigan and its beautiful white sandy beaches..  This photo was taken a couple of weeks ago at the park in Ludington, Michigan. You can see they still have the snow/sand fences up. Many totally get buried by the sand during the Winter months.

We love this area and we go to the
"Ludington State Camp Grounds" often during the summer. It is the most wonderful and Magical place..

I Would like to Thank All My Blogging Friends for Visiting and Leaving All Your Lovely Comments for me to read... they are greatly appreciated..

I am Linking to
 Mosaic Monday..
Pink Saturday..

 Hugs Judy

Hey Judy,
These blossoms are so cute, I love them. Just think what we can do with a little imagination. ;) I like the way you spray painted the branches green, that goes so good with the pink. Jebb I really like that. Aren't these tulip crochet needles wonderful, I like mine a lot .
Your flowers are beautiful, and the picture of the Chinese Lantern is really pretty.
Best wishes and hugs from Iceland

What a wonderful variety in your blog Judy, of course the Chinese lantern bush is special to me. Your cherry blossoms are so so pretty, and Mr Sweetie clearing the oak leaves just so much fun, and hard work I bet.
Thank you for sharing, hugs Lyn ♥

Your cherry blossoms are just the prettiest little flowers and I love your arrangement. I'm still crocheting up a storm so I guess I'll try these next. I had only 1 crochet hook but now I have 3...thanks to the thrift store! lol Love the pretty trillium. We had those growing in the wet spring areas in NC and they are fun to see early in the Spring. Looks like you and hubby are both busy! Enjoy your weekend! Sweet hugs!

Hi Judy!
I'm so glad you're seeing some blooms in your neck o' the woods. We're in the middle of a chilly, rainy weekend after a really warm week.

I love the pretty spring bouquet! The flowers are so cute on the branches.
Your bottle tree is gorgeous. I'm really partial to cobalt blue.
Hope you're having a great weekend!

What lovely cherry blossom - I love the tree - it will bring smiles to all who are lucky enough to see it.

The chinese lanterns are beautiful flowers. I had one on my blog some weeks ago.

Blowing the oak leaves away seems like a fun task. An excuse to be in the outdoors.

lovely blog.

The cherry blossoms you crocheted made a pretty faux branch display. The blue bottle tree is unique and I enjoyed the photos of your garden.

So many things in this post / love it! :) In your collage, in the one pic, without KNOWING these were crocheted, one would think they were regular flowers. Amazing!

Chinese Lanterns: I had one of those in a flower garden years ago. They are a fun flower. Another one, come to think of it, though I don't know the name...was a flower that dried out to resemble a coin of sorts.

Have a wonderful week! :)

Oh, those cherry blossoms are beautiful. I can see the silkiness of that yarn right through the computer screen.

How nice that you have forsythia and trillium already! Here in Wisconsin we are rather behind on spring blossoms. We only got our first violets today!

That mystery white blossom reminds me of Wood Anemone.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog! :)

Hello Judy,

The crochet flowers are so pretty if they were outside they would confuse the bees. I love the yarn you used, it looks so lovely and soft. Happy days to you and your hardworking husband.

Oh Judy, so many wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous things to comment on here. Firstly, your cherry blossoms are bloomin' marvellous and look ever so pretty on display (good work on the ribbon too). Lovely to see your wildflowers and pretty flowering tree and the reappearance of the bottle tree:-) That little wagon is totally cute. Happy spring days - Di. P.S. The Michigan lake side looks like it better go on the bucket list to visit one day!

So much goodness in this post!!! Those Chinese Lanterns are beautiful - I didn't know they were called Chinese Lanterns. Here, we call it Flowering Maple, its scientific name is Abutilon (don't ask me how to pronounce that). I love them and have them in my garden as well. They come in all kinds of colors and you can even get them with different shaded leaves. If you're lucky they can grow quite big.
Those cherry blossoms are beautiful. That must be fun to crochet them. I especially like your blue bottle tree, that looks fantastic! And beautiful pictures from Lake Michigan.

Hi Judy! Thanks for introducing yourself at One Saylor's Log. Just in reading this post I realize we have many common interests. I am looking forward to visiting more of your posts and am adding your blog to my blogroll. My cobalt blue glass collection is on the windowsill of my room :-) My mom was a nurse and my youngest daughter is currently a nurse at the VA hospital in Portland, OR. I think your Great Lake is beautiful and can imagine living near it is a joy. I have driven by it several times on trips across the USA. I enjoyed seeing the Chinese Lantern bloom and your Trillium as well! And I have some pink yarn with silk in it that I have been using for several little projects, one knit, one crochet, but not creating cherry blossoms as you have done. Lovely! Thanks for sharing.
xx,
Gracie

Love your crocheted blossoms. I cannot crochet - and I've tried! I have to stick (haha for anyone who uses a neddle!) to needlepoint!!

So glad you enjoyed making the cherry blossoms. Your twigs look gorgeous. - what a good idea to paint them that colour first. My cherry blossoms have now been put away until next Spring but it's nice knowing they are there and less ephemeral than the real ones which came out and went again all in a bang with the late Spring here. Meant to comment on this when I read it originally but something got in the way. - so sorry! Hope summer has arrived now with you - it seems to have arrived finally in the UK! E x
