WONDERS AFTER THE SNOW BLIZZARD and FELTING

THE WONDERS OF WINTER!

My Sweetie went to the bird feeders during the height of the "Snow Blizzard" yesterday and fed our "Birds of the Winter" but I see they are back early this AM waiting for more!

We had already received several inches of snow the day before the Snow Blizzard arrived but our Snow Gauge shows we now have a total of about 15 inches.  And here I thought we would have another "Mild Winter"!  Silly Me!!! LOL

Just prior to getting this weeks snows I saw just a wee peek of my crocuses coming up in the front yard under the  Living Room Window where the ground is most warmest.   I think I can safely say "My Gardens" are back to their sleeping mode again.

 BUT
Punxsutawney Phil the Ground Hog did not see his shadow on February 2nd so what does this means?? We are All going to have  an Early Spring. Do I believe this?  Oh Yes, I truly do.  LOL   Could this be the Last Snows for the Winter?? I am hoping!!

So what does a "Poor Retired Girl" to do during a "Blustery Snowy Blizzard"??

SHE CROCHETS!!

I have to admit I use to "Despise" Winter because I use to travel long distances to work and it was so very scary driving in it.

But now that I am "Retired" I spent my day in My Comfy Chair looking out the Living Room Window, barely seeing the front fence and Happily Crocheted. Huge Very Big Smile... Life Is Very Good....

I made more Hearts out of my left over 100% Merino Wools. One of the Hearts I decided to Felt. The crocheted heart was 2 1/4 inches wide. Felted it became about 1 1/2 inches. So it felted up a good amount.

I love felting.  What do you think??

I think I may Embellish My Hearts with some beads.  I think they need Sparkle and I really Like Sparkle.  Big Grin....

I also crocheted a Bowl.  I forgot to take a before photo but it was about 6 1/2 inches wide.  After felting  it became approximately 4 1/2 inches.

Now what will I do with My Felted Bowl?? Hmmmmmmm.....

I know I will add lots of Embellishments.....

I Wonder what it will become????

Please come back another day to see what My Pink Bowl will be created into.

One Last Photo.....

What does My Sweetie do After A Snow Blizzard???
Yup, Snow Blows out the Driveway while I take his photo.  Huge Very Big Smile.....

Oh Judy, I am happy you are safe. All that snow my goodness. You really live in a Christmas postcard now; I love snow but only if i can stay at home.
Your crochet is lovely, isn't it very relaxing to crochet near the fire with a cup a tea and maybe a piece of cake......

Come on Springtime!!
I love your crocheted hearts. I am thinking your cute little bowl would be the perfect base for an easter nest! Filled with chocolate candy would make it yummy too!!!!

One of the best things about being retired, staying home in bad weather and enjoying it from a cozy chair.

Oh, I hope we don't get that much, lol. we have more forecast for tomorrow and the beginning of the week, but it should be a lot less than that.

the snow lo0ks beautiful in your garden but is so inconvient. As you say good you are now retired and do not have to try to get to work in it, trust you will not get more as it said on the radio this morning up to 36" could fall in some parts of USA.
You are making good use of your time with the crochet hook, love how you have felted what you have made, have you done it by hand with needles or on an embellishing machine, afraid I am lazy and use my machine, have not had it out for a while maybe this weekend I will have a play.

The snow pics are gorgeous but I do know how difficult they make things. Loving the bowl and heart.

That is a boatload of snow! Yikes! But knowing that you are able to stay safe and cozy inside is a very good thing. And spending your time crocheting is even more wonderful! I do that even on a good day -- on the weekend, of course. Work gets in the way of crochet during the week but I do try! Just don't think anyone would want me wearing my pajamas to work which is my favorite weekend attire. :) Sending warm wishes your way, Tammy

Oh my that snow looks soooooooooooo cold! I'm glad it's up your way and not here in NC. I like to look at snow, not live with it. ;)

Ok...so I'm about to totally pass out over how fabulous that bunny doily is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your blog is looking so very pretty Judy. Finally your snow measure is getting a real work out. Your little crochet hearts and bowl turned out very well. Look forward to seeing the bowl all embellished. Lovely photos in this post. xxx

Wow! You got lots of snow too! You are so lucky that you have your husband to help with snow removal! I love your pink bowl. What really caught my eye is the darling doily it is sitting on. That is beautiful! You do a fantastic job. When we can stay inside and make beautiful things like that, I guess the snow isn't so bad.

Hi There! Thanks for visiting my blog! I love your pink and white scarf. Isn't felting fun, to shrink stuff on purpose? Great snow pictures! We've got a few signs of spring around here, and the sky is blue today. Life is good.
